COUNSELING WITH YALONDA

Live Anew.

A safe place to heal what hasn't been said. To break the cycles you didn't start. To exhale the weight you've been carrying — and become someone you couldn't have been before the work was done.

WHY THIS WORK MATTERS

Life Leaves marks.

Childhood wounds. Relationship betrayals. Losses you never had time to grieve. Pressure you absorbed because there was no one else to absorb it. The expectation that you'd hold it together for everyone — and the quiet exhaustion of having held it together for so long.

Over time, those unhealed places stop staying still. They show up as anxiety, depression, the feeling of being stuck in your own life, the sense that you can't quite reach the people closest to you.

You don't have to keep carrying this alone. To live anew is not to forget what happened. It is to stop being run by it.

WHO THIS IS FOR

I work with adults ready to heal trauma, process loss, navigate life transitions, and reclaim the parts of themselves that pressure or pain has crowded out. Individuals. Couples. Families. People who are tired of being strong and want a place to be honest.

Many of my clients are leaders, executives, and high-performers — people who carry weight that is invisible from the outside. Twelve years of executive coaching has taught me how heavy the chair can feel. You don't have to perform here.

If your faith is part of how you make sense of your life, we can hold that in the room together. I integrate Christian counseling on request, blending faith with proven clinical methods. If your faith isn't a part of the work, that's also welcome. The room belongs to what helps you heal.

ADULTS READY TO
DO REAL WORK.

My approach is trauma-informed at its foundation — meaning we move at the pace your nervous system can handle, never faster, and the work honors what your body has been trying to tell you.

From there, I draw on evidence-based modalities matched to what you actually need: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Somatic and EMDR-informed practices, and Person-Centered work. We integrate mind, body, emotional, and spiritual dimensions because real healing rarely lives in only one of them.

Specialty areas: Trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, infidelity and relationship issues, life transitions, women's issues, self-esteem, and the unique pressures faced by first responders, leaders, and high performers.

TRAUMA-INFORMED. PERSON-CENTERED. INTEGRATIVE.

HOW THE WORK HAPPENS

From first call to
first session.

WHAT TO EXPECT

STEP 1

Consultation

The free 15-minute consultation. We talk by phone and you can safely share what's bringing you here. I tell you how I work. We figure out together if I'm the right person to walk this path with you. No pressure either way.

STEP 2

Foundation

We begin with the intake process. Before our first session, you'll receive a Professional Disclosure Statement explaining how I practice, my pre-licensure status, my supervisor, fees, confidentiality, and your rights as a client. This process holds all the formal details. You are protected even before we begin.

STEP 3

TRANSFORMATION

The work begins. Sessions are 50 minutes, scheduled at a cadence that fits the work — typically weekly to start, transitioning to biweekly as healing stabilizes. In-person at one of two SC locations, or telehealth across NC, SC, and FL.

Yalonda Haywood, MBA, ICF-ACC

ABOUT YALONDA

I'm a former corporate executive turned executive coach turned trauma-informed counselor — a path I didn't plan on but couldn't avoid. After fifteen years in technology leadership and twelve years coaching executives across more than twenty countries, I started seeing the same wound under every story: leaders who knew how to lead anyone except themselves.

I went to therapy. My body healed. My business grew. I became evidence of my own thesis — that whole, healed people lead better lives and better organizations. Then, I followed that thesis into clinical training so I could do this work the way it deserves to be done.

I'm currently a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. I see clients as a Pre-Licensed Professional under the clinical supervision of Dr. Sadia Upright, LCMHCS (NC #S13063), through Morning Light Wellness, PLLC. I will complete full Licensed Professional Counselor licensure in December 2026.

Outside of the counseling room, I serve as an executive coach (ICF-ACC certified, twelve years) and community leader. I believe in this work, and I hold it with rigor and with reverence.

private pay.
Real depth.
No middlemen.

Sessions are private-pay. I do not bill insurance directly — which means our work isn't dictated by what an insurance company decides should be "medically necessary," how many sessions you're allowed, or what diagnosis has to appear on your permanent record. The session is yours.

Individual session: $125

Couples session: $150

Sessions are 50 minutes.

If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, I can provide superbills for you to submit for reimbursement. Many clients receive partial reimbursement this way. I'm happy to help you understand whether your plan offers this benefit.

Where We Meet

ABOUT MY PRACTICE

Although I am an internationally certified coach, going deeper in this work means I can’t skip steps, and I honor the process. I see clients as a Pre-Licensed Professional Counselor through Morning Light Wellness, PLLC, under the clinical supervision of Dr. Sadia Upright, LCMHCS (NC license #S13063). My full Licensed Professional Counselor licensure is anticipated in December 2026.

Working with a pre-licensed clinician under supervision is a fully ethical and legally recognized way to receive therapy. It also means you receive the benefit of two clinical minds on your case — mine in the room with you, and Dr. Upright's behind the scenes through regular supervision review. Many clients find this an asset.

Before our first session, you'll receive all of the details, including your rights, fees, confidentiality protections, and how to provide feedback or address concerns. I want every client to begin our work fully informed.

Your Right To KNOw

In December 2026, upon completion of full LPC licensure, the counseling practice will transition to Live Anew Counseling, PLLC — Yalonda's independent clinical practice. Existing clients will continue uninterrupted.

FAQ

  • Live Well supports adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relational difficulty, and faith-integrated concerns. If you're not sure whether your situation is a fit, schedule a consultation and we'll explore it together.

  • Yes. In-person sessions are available in Lake Wylie, SC. Telehealth is available throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida.

  • Every person and situation is different. Some clients see meaningful change within a few months; others choose longer-term work. We'll talk about your goals and pace during the consultation.

  • Faith is integrated when it's part of who you are and what you want to bring into the work. It's never imposed — your therapeutic experience is shaped around your values, not mine.

  • Live Well operates on a fully private pay basis, and we have transparent pricing. We do not accept insurance. This approach allows us to offer personalized and detailed care without the constraints typically imposed by insurance providers. However, we can issue a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement towards your out-of-network deductible if your plan allows.

  • Live Anew is counseling care for the whole person. Lead Anew is executive coaching for the whole leader. Some clients begin in one and step into the other — both honor the same belief: you cannot lead anew until you live well.
